Anne E. Passino received her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia, then studied law at the University of Tennessee College of Law where she was a member of the Environmental Moot Court team, received advocacy awards for her work in the Legal Clinic, and served on the Tennessee Journal of Law & Policy. After law school, she practiced at Ritchie, Johnson & Stovall for seven years with a focus on criminal defense before moving to Nashville to practice with the Southern Environmental Law Center, a nonprofit legal advocacy organization that works to protect public health and natural resources in the Southeast. Anne returned to Ritchie, Johnson & Stovall in 2020.

Anne has worked as an adjunct professor at the U.T. College of Law, been a member of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court and a Barrister and Executive Committee member of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, served in leadership positions with the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Nashville Chapter of the American Constitution Society, and completed the Tennessee Bar Association’s selected leadership program. Anne regularly lectures and writes on issues concerning criminal, administrative, and environmental law; she has served as a stakeholder on city and state environmental advisory groups; and she currently sits on the board of a statewide conservation nonprofit.
